Time to stop playing meaningless phone games or staring at the television screen - you and your kids can create huge fun from simple objects you can find at your home. Using toilet paper rolls, googly eyes, pom-poms, cardboards, and bubble wraps to create toys and games, your kids can improve fine motor skills through playing and creating.
This is also a great process to improve creativity, imagination, and most importantly, develop patience for your kids.
Now, please enjoy these great educational activities by following the step-by-step directions and diagrams we have prepared for you.
The materials are really simple: a toilet paper roll (or a paper cup if you want a larger surface area), clear packaging tape, markers (in red, yellow, orange, green, blue, or purple), and your phone (or a flashlight).
Tape the paper roll and ask your kids to paint the rainbow, which could train color recognition and fine motor skills.
Place your phone under the paper roll and turn on the flashlight.
Such a simple kids' craft! They got themsleves a mini rainbow machine.
Ask your kid to design different hairstyles for you and your family.
Start by preparing white paper and drawing faces (also a great opportunity for learning different facial expressions).
A friendly reminder: don't remove the tape until you are on the lawn or your garden

Ok. You are in your garden right now. It's time for the most important step: let our mini hairstylist shine.
Ask your kids to select the plants they want to use and place them on the "hair."
Want a pet dragon with fire? You got it!
You gonna need a card stock paper, various plastic bags, 2 large pom poms (for the eyes), 2 small pom poms (for the nose), and 2 googly eyes. Let your kids select the colors they want.
Cut the plastic bags into long strips. Glue them to the dragon "mouth." Now, it's time to blow and breathe fire!
Note: if you don't have the foam net sleeve pocket bag (usually found when you buy fruits in a box), you can still use the bubble wraps for this step.
Now, don't forget to decorate your "hot air balloon drawing" with some cute clouds! 4. Bubble CornsAnother pretty simple drawing activity to do with your kids.
Cut them off once you have finished.
Find a photo of corn growing in the farmland and ask your kids to observe it. What are its features and colors?
Let them draw the noticeable features of the corn on the black paper.
This is another kids crafts DIY gift for friends and classmates!
Your kids gonna love this movable egg with a little chick hiding in it!
Move the stick and the little chick is ready to hatch! This is also a great kids' DIY project for role play and other pretend play.
This mini art project might cost a few more steps than the previous DIY, but it is still very simple.
It is also a great handmade gift for your kids to give to their friends!
Draw the egg shape on two pieces of white paper.
Now, color the egg with your kids! Be creative and let them design their own eggs.
Cut along the egg crack. This could greatly enhance their fine motor skills.
Glue the chick to your kids' popsicle stick (or even your coffee stirrer)
Now your chick can finally live in its egg!
One more step left before you can finally play: glue the top of the egg to your chick's head.
Start with drawing the shape of the cloud ☁️
Design the facial expression for the cloud.
You can also use the googly eyes 👀
Now this part (rainbow making) requires a lot of patience, especially for little kids. This provides a great opportunity of developing patience and fine motor skills.
A Fun Kids Crafts Art Project
This is the perfect DIY if you want to prepare small gifts for your kids' school. Most importantly, your little helper can make these on their own for their friends!
Draw a large circle using a big round lid. This is going to be the base of the watermelon.
